yoga – just do it

yoga just do itToday I will be who I am and do what I can…

Whatever Yoga means to you -whether a certain flow, a class, a prayer, a chant, an action, a stillness, today fit it in… As B.K.S. Iyengar says in Light on Yoga, “As a well cut diamond has many facets, each reflecting a different colour of light, so does the word yoga, each facet reflecting a different shade of meaning and revealing different aspects of the entire range of human endeavour to win inner peace and  happiness”

Are We There Yet ?

This is so funny and so appropriate ! It can feel at times like the modern yogi(ni) is always in between “here” and “there” – “on the way” so to speak.  Sometimes the destination is a physical location but sometimes it is just plain old metaphysical 🙂 LOL ! It’s like we are in a hurry to ‘achieve’ inner peace.  The truth is, peace is simple and seeing it is much like polishing old silver – the shine is under a bit of soot.  We are so busy ‘doing’ things sometimes, we forget to just ‘be’ and it is in sitting still for a moment, truly relaxing the mind, that we can see the light of our uncomplicated free and easy self.  Try it for a moment, just simply sit, simply ‘be’ and you may just feel like the chase for ‘enlightenment’ is over who knows?
